COMMUNICATION AND CULTURE:

It is important to establish a trusting relationship with your counselor, case manager, or service provider. Here, at Valley Community Services Board, we have staff who are fluent in American Sign Language and knowledgeable about Deaf Culture. We understand and respect the unique cultural aspects of our clients. The focus of treatment will be on the issues and concerns that you have and not on the misunderstandings related to the culture. Qualified interpreters are available when there is a need.
